Hair has always been more than just a career for me—it’s been a passion and a constant part of my life for over 25 years. I fell in love with the creativity of hair and color and the way it can change how someone feels the moment they look in the mirror. Owning a salon was something I always dreamed about, even while working behind the chair and building relationships with clients I truly care about. When the opportunity came to purchase Pixie Hair Salon, it felt like the right moment to turn that dream into reality.

Stepping into ownership has been one of the most meaningful milestones of my career. I believe the most important part of what I do is listening, because every client has their own story and their own vision. My goal is always to create looks that feel authentic, wearable, and true to each person—not just what’s trending. Whether it’s a subtle refresh or a complete transformation, I love being part of that moment of confidence and self-expression.

Ashley

Senior Stylist, Ouidad Specialist

As every curly-haired girl knows, it takes specific care and attention to get the perfect look. Ashley was trained at Ouidad in NYC to tame the curl, enhance the curl, color the curl. She consistently consults with her clients, so they can work with their own natural attributes and get maximum results. Since joining us in January 2015, she’s constantly adding new skills to her repertoire—short razor cuts, taming thick, unruly hair and making sure your eyebrows look as amazing as your hair!

Courtney

Senior Stylist

Courtney has been cutting hair since she was five! Granted she was using plastic scissors on her “client” aka dad but she was destined to become the accomplished stylist that she is. With over 16 years cutting hair in the Capital Region and training from New York City to London she’s a master at giving her clients a style and color that perfectly suits their lifestyle. From men’s and razor cuts to long flowing beach waves—and everything in between—there’s nothing she doesn’t put her creativity and passion into. We’re so thrilled that Courtney became part of our team at Pixie in 2017.

Mikaela always knew the beauty industry was her calling. From voluminous blow outs and playing with natural curls to dimensional hair color and vivid color transformations, Mikaela loves creating unique personal looks for her clients. We love seeing Mikaela’s creative mind at work on the hes, shes, and theys who sit in her chair!

Stylist

Amber’s dream since she was young was to be in the beauty industry and we’re so excited she’s been living her dream here at Pixie since graduating from Paul Mitchell in 2021. She loves making connections with her clients, making them feel comfortable and at home whether they’re in for a simple trim, brightening up a blonde, or going for a big transformation. Hair color is truly a passion and she’s happy to consult and collaborate with you!

Kalin

Assistant Stylist
Lash, Brow & Wax Tech

A 2018 graduate of BOCES Capital Region, Kalin joined us in September 2019 as an assistant to our team of stylists. She has become an integral part of making sure our stylists have everything they need and making sure our clients have the best salon experience possible. In addition, Kalin offers lash, brow and wax services at Pixie and has recently launched spray tanning to her extensive line of beauty services. We’re excited to see Kalin’s expertise continue to grow.

Stylist

Madison (Maddi) joined us in  2023. She realized at a young age that making people feel beautiful and doing hair was her passion. Her lived-in colors, blonding services, blowouts, and updos are building a loyal client following. Maddi has also added spray tanning to the services she offers.

Kelly

Assistant Stylist

After studying math and science, Kelly became very interested in the chemistry of hair. Inspired by her hairstylist cousin, she decided to follow her passion and we’re happy she’s landed here as an assistant stylist. She’s learning the latest in fashion colors, lived in looks, and edgy cuts with clippers. We look forward to seeing Kelly’s artistry flourish.

Assistant Stylist

A recent graduate of BOCES Capital Region, Rylee joined us in 2023. As an assistant to all our stylists she’s learning the latest trends and techniques for cutting and styling. She’s building her expertise in hair color — everything from root touch ups to lived in blonde and dimensional brunette. Rylee is all about keeping clients and stylists happy and has become an integral part of our team.

Assistant

Fourteen years of cheer sparked Kelcy’s interest in hairstyling. She has been an integral part of our Pixie assistant team since 2023 and is fantastic with braids and updos and loves fashion colors. We look forward to her continued growth as a stylist.

Mae

Assistant Stylist

Mae loves the creativity of cosmetology and is expanding her beauty expertise at Pixie. Mae helps keep stylists and clients happy and on time and has become a great addition to our team. In Mae’s off time, she’s pursuing a long term goal — studying to become a middle school teacher.
